Most colleges have istance with problems like yours -- whether it be dyslexia, other issues with reading, math anxiety --- all available through the counselors' office. Please call and make an appointment to talk to them about your reading difficulties to see if there is a solution. It does sound like you have a reading impairment, though I don't know what it could be.
