I got a throat infection and my period almost at the same time...is this bad or dangerous?

Hi, so yes i got very sick and I think it is a throat infection (I don't remember the doctor telling me what it was, but it looks like it) I had a sore throat, very very bad body aches and a bad headache, a fever, yellow/brown (and a little red) phlegm and some sneezing. I was exposed to cold wind and rain a few hours after I got worse and only had something like a bad cold only. Then, I went to the doctor and he gave me penicillin and tylenol. Next day... I got my period, now if anyone is wondering how hell is like....I'm living it right now. Anyways my mother says this got out of hand since girl's immune systems get weaker when they have their period, but I'm worried, I have cramps and the Tylenol for flu simptoms is not helping and i can not take the one for cramps cause I'd be missing the one for the flu...what can I do? Is having these both things dangerous? or just very unfortunate? My period is moderate to heavy so looks normal like always...(or when I have it anyways, I have some period problems)....So, any ideas ? thank you guys!!!..
