Metaphilosophy?

Philosophy pervades all branches of knowledge. Each branch has a founding philosophy. To keep everything consistent and people from blending philosophies and calling it something else. Philosophy itself, as a field of study, sets standards by which each philosophy is set out. This is so everyone involved can discuss their aims and goals for a line of study intelligently. The research and study in these fields must meet the standards set by philosophy to attain a degree level. That is why an academician must at some point study philosophy.
